William and Kate kick off Canadian tour with Canada Day celebration in Ottawa

Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends.

Today, Canada’s Capital Region around Ottawa buzzes with activity, as Canadians from across the country and visitors from elsewhere flock to the Capital to show national pride and celebrate Canada's 144th birthday.

An estimated half-million people will show up to greet Their Royal Highnesses, Prince William and Catherine, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! The royal couple will celebrate Canada Day on Parliament Hill during their first overseas trip as a married couple and the jubilant crowds on hand for their arrival in Canada Thursday treated them like rock stars. People came from miles away to see Kate and William. As an example, a reporter interviewed two sisters from Illinois who drove 21 hours to the see couple.

Kate and William will be in Canada for 9 days before heading to L.A. Read their full itinerary.

United Kingdom, register at NHS Organ Donor Register
Australia, register at Australian Organ Donor Register
Your generosity can save or enhance the lives of up to fifty people with heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas and small intestine transplants (see allotransplantation). One tissue donor can help by donating skin, corneas, bone, tendon, ligaments and heart valves

Has your life been saved by an organ transplant? "Pay it forward" and help spread the word about the need for organ donation - In the U.S. another person is added to the national transplant waiting list every 11 minutes and 18 people die each day waiting for an organ or tissue transplant. Organs can save lives, corneas renew vision, and tissue may help to restore someone's ability to walk, run or move freely without pain. Life Begins with You
