A wonderful way to honor our veterans November 11th

What's this post to have with organ donation and transplantation?, you might say. Organ donation saves lives and over the years our veterans have saved thousands upon thousands of lives while keeping out homeland safe. So I thought it fitting to share this story with you.

Restaurateur offers free steak dinners for war veterans

Paul McGough, owner of the Ali Baba Steakhouse in Waterloo, Ontario is thanking veterans for his life and freedom by offering them a free steak dinner November 11th.

All they have to do is make reservations and show up wearing their uniform, medals or something like a legion jacket. McGugh is challenging other companies and governments to do something similar, such as free cab rides, bus passes or maybe even no income taxes.

An article in the Waterloo Region Record notes that McGough's 83-year-old father served in the U.S. army and he is offering the free dinner to American, Canadian, British or other Allied veterans, past or present.

I was very touched by this story and hopefully someone reading this post will be also and find a way to do something similar or encourage others to do so. Merv.
